Retrieving your Delphi 2007 trial key

with 14 comments

Some people reported problems on Monday, April 9th with getting their trial key via email for the Delphi 2007 trial. I wanted to follow up here and let you know that Delphi 2007 trial keys will now be emailed every time you go to the Delphi 2007 trial download.

http://downloads.codegear.com/survey.aspx?sid=648

If you didn’t receive your trial key via email before, you can now go back to the trial download site and the system will resend your trial key again when you hit the “Submit” button on the survey, before giving you the link to download the trial.

Your previous values for the trial survey are preserved, so all you really have to do is hit “Submit” again to get an email with your trial registration key.

You do NOT need to download the trial install again if you’ve already downloaded it. You only need to go to the trial download again if you did not receive your key when you went to the trial download before. Once you have your trial key, you can use that to activate your trial version.

  1. Since you already know that the user has done the survey.. Why not redirect these users to another page without the survey, and have a button for "Resend registration key" and some explaining on what they need to do if they did not get their email?

It should be obvious to the user what the website will be doing, and not some strange special behaviour that you describe here happening behind the scene.

  3. Thanks for the suggestion Atle. This is not our final solution, just one that I could implement quickly that works.

  6. This is backwards. Sorry but how do i get trial license and why would you want to restrict me from installing trial version? Waiting for license will allow me, instead of working on the product as you may have envisioned, to look for different product that is more productive than waiting for license file.

  7. k b,

We’ve changed the way you get trial keys from us. They should come pretty much instantaneously to you via email, and the request for a trial key is in exactly the same place you get the trial download from. We’ve made it as easy as we could. I hope you will find it easier to download and use our trials in the future, too.

  9. Tomasz, could you give me some more information on this? Have you checked your spam folders or filters? We definitely send out the trial key every time you request it from the trial download page.
