Behind the Screen

Could this be your dream job?

with 4 comments

We’re constantly developing cool new services on BDN for our developer community. We greatly enjoy being developers who build services for developers. However, our developer community is also a very demanding group of people. They are constantly asking for improvements to our existing services, and for new services. We never run out of things to do, and we really need some help building all this cool stuff with the latest technologies and the latest “DevCo” development products!

BDN is built primarily with Delphi (and some C#), ASP.NET, and ECO. We also have systems built with Java web services and Server Faces and JBuilder. Future work is also either using the Delphi/ECO/ASP.NET combination, or Java web technologies. If you have skills in those areas, you are a good candidate for this job.

A tough job you might love

The work is very demanding and requires great problem solving and self-management skills. It could well be the toughest job you’ll ever love. But don’t take my word for it. This is what some of the BDN developers have to say about working on BDN.

“Working on BDN projects with John Kaster and the gang has helped me to grow tremendously as a developer. I am always getting exposure to new technologies and techniques, and this is backed up with a team of extremely talented developers who can provide advice when required. Pair that with the fact that I get to play with the latest tools from Borland, and that makes being a BDN contractor a dream gig for me.” — David Clegg, New Zealand (CodeCentral, the blog server, and more)

“I enjoy a lot being able to develop for BDN. The projects are always interesting and they keep providing me with new and different challenges. Having the chance to use tools and technologies hot out of the oven is a huge bonus, as well as a good opportunity to provide early feedback and help shape them the best way possible. In short: everything I could ask for as a Delphi developer.” — Leonel Togniolli, Brasil (QualityCentral stats, BDN 2, the Digital Signature system, and more)

“Being a fairly new member of the BDN Developer Team, I can say that everybody is really patient and helpful whenever anyone has a question. Work is really being done as a team. Being communicative and open-minded is pretty important. The assignments are always interesting as it almost always involves working with new technology, but can at the same time be very challenging. However, everybody works on the area he or she is best at. All I can say is that it is a great experience and I do not regret ever deciding to join the team for a single second!” — Holger Flick, Germany (online documentation system)
