Behind the Screen

BDNradio is on the air, 24 hours a day, every day

with 10 comments

If you’re tired of listening to music on Internet radio, or want to learn more about your favorite tools, you can now tune in to replays of BDNradio interviews.

We have now created 3 "radio" channels for your listening pleasure, available around the clock:

We’ll be adding new content to the java and delphi channels as we create it, and we’ll also be putting some surprising and entertaining audio created by the product teams in the channels, so give us a listen when you’re tired of the same old music.

  1. Thanks for taking the time to do this, John. I’m listening to Ray Konopka as I type this.

Now if only we could hijack David I’s iPod so the cut-scene music can be ‘upgraded’ for the next Delphi 24 hour marathon. If you expose it via VPN, I’ll take care of the rest. 😉

  2. Excellent! As far as I know, this is a first from a tool vendor, 24 hour developer radio.

  3. There is a LOT of different music we could play with the music libraries David and I have. Maybe we’ll just do a total "shuffle songs" next time and let the machine totally pick at random.

  4. It would be really great to have all of the radio content made available as mp3s for offline listening – some of the previous interview recordings are in wma format. Also if you switch the broadcasts to use SHOUTcast server (http://www.shoutcast.com/download/serve.phtml) people can tune in with any media player instead of just Windows Media Player. I experienced a lot of problems with WMP during the 24 hours of Delphi.

  5. Rossen,

Thanks for the suggestions. There has already been an extensive discussion of this on the borland.public.delphi.non-technical newsgroup. I’m aware of shoutcast and other options.

  7. Why not make PodCasts of the BDNradio shows ?

PodCasts is because of iTunes popularity allready the most popular on-demand radio listening technology on the net today.

With PodCasts you would be able to download and listen to a BDNradio show offline on your favorit MP3 player.
